THERAPY
Hello! I am so happy you are here. I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me. Should you feel we could be a good fit, I will look forward to eventually learning more about you, too! I strive to hold a safe space to facilitate human connection, for clients to feel both seen and heard through my commitment to empathic, active listening. While I have experience working with a variety of presenting concerns (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Bipolar, etc), I especially appreciate working with perinatal clients. I strongly stand behind the fact that support during this transitional time is hugely significant and I am grateful for whenever I have the opportunity to assist families with this challenging but beautiful life shift. I have over three years of experience providing psychotherapy treatment to clients who have struggled with perinatal mood/anxiety disorders.
I have a master's level specialization in Infant Mental Health, which focuses on Attachment Theory, and I firmly believe in the work. I was an Infant Mental Health Clinician in a home-based setting, both during my Masters Clinical Internship and following my collegiate years, where I helped clients process trauma histories and strengthen their attachment relationships with their children. My hope is to continue to help families navigate these dynamics with their children, as I value the importance of healthy attachment styles, and to educate adults on the topic of attachment relationships and some of the difficulties that may exist or arise within the family system.
During my time as an Infant Mental Health Clinician, I was also a Behavioral Health Consultant in a primary care, family-practice, medical office within the Beaumont health system. I was a part of an interdisciplinary team which excited me. I believe an integrated care model is most effective for providing quality patient care. I was consulted by doctors to address a myriad of behavioral health issues, for both adult and pediatric patients, such as: weight management, stress management, substance use disorder, bullying, etc. While at Beaumont Family Medicine, I obtained a certificate through the nationally recognized University of Michigan's Certificate Program in Integrated Behavioral Health in Primary Care. Due to the populations I worked with and the exposure I had to the many behavioral health issues that exist, it was during this time that I quickly realized my passion was really perinatally-focused. With that, I decided to leave Beaumont Family Medicine and specialize my practice by working in an OBGYN medical setting, offering behavioral health services to female-identifying clients at Trinity Health IHA Medical Group.
I thoroughly enjoyed continuing to carry forth an Integrated Health philosophy while at Trinity IHA Medical Group, though I eventually chose to continue my journey as a therapist fully remote, increasing accessibility to many patients and capitalizing on my independence as a provider, in a private practice setting-- which is where I am today! Aside from the approaches to care I noted above, I often utilize a Strengths-based Approach, Solution-focused Approach, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy practices. I look forward to continuing my practice tending to a wide range of clients. I am committed to ensuring that patients' individual stories feel held in the therapeutic space I facilitate, as I empower you on your journey towards greater wellness.
